Black and White Assignment

For this Black and White assignment, I chose to do a theme of reflections of myself, and others.  It is a reflection of people essentially.  Each picture was originally taken in colour, but then switched to black and white in photo shop later on.
Each picture was taken in different settings and places.  the first picture was taken in the school . It represent a bunch of friends together in modern day society in a school setting.  The second picture was taken by the reflection of a hand dryer.  The part of the dryer that dispenses the heat acted like a mirror, which was perfect to take a reflection shot off of, of myself.  The third picture was a reflection off a phone camera.  I placed the camera on my phone standing up, and took a picture of me and my friends standing in front of the phone camera with the actual camera.  The fourth picture was taken in front of a mirror from a slight angle.  The fifth picture was a reflection off a window.  As you can see, my friends are taking pictures of their own reflections at the same time in my picture.  The fifth and sixth one were taken from mirror as well, but they are both different mirrors in different places.  The last picture was taken against a laptop screen.  You can vaguely see the letters "SIMRAN" in the background of the picture.
My photos were edited through photoshop.  Each picture was originally taken in normal colour.  After I took the pictures and loaded them onto the computer.  I changed the saturation and hue of the photos. I made sure that they were all black and white.  No in between

Shutter Speed Assignment

This is the fast shutter speed, I found the slow shutter
speeds were way too blurry and slow motion.  It was hard to capture
my brother jumping than in fast shutter speed.

Aperture Assignment

I took six pictures of the same image of the bush.  Each picture has a different aperture.  I started from a big aperture and gradually switched it to a smaller one.  I placed the pictures in the order of the biggest aperture to smallest.  The first picture was 5.6, to 6.3,to 7.1, to 9.0 to ,11 to ,16 to, then finally 36.  Each time the backround of the picture got less blurry.

Tilt-Shift Photography

History

Tilt-Shift Photography is a technique used by tilting the lens upwards or downwards, and shifting it to change the image focus from a different angle.  Often used to create a "fake miniature" affect.

Older cameras allowed you to tilt the lens in various angles such as up, down, and side-to side.  Modern day cameras has special lenses that change the angle to create the affect that you like.

The miniature affect is the ablility to make a big space seem small.  For example, looking at a big town that appears small in the image.

This is an older image.  Tilt-Shift photography was used
to make the scene in the picture appear smaller.
The cars and roads look smaller than they are in reality.

This image makes the atmosphere look grand and long.
The building were blurred inside the semi-circle of the Eiffel tower.

This image was created to focus on the field.
The people in the stands were blurred out so the attention goes to the center.

This is a modern day image of city buildings.  It shows the whole city.  The Tilt-Shift affect creates the effect of making the buildings look smaller.
